WHAT TUMBLR HAS MEANT TO ME (PART I OF ?)
If it weren’t for Tumblr, I’d never have met so many wonderful people who have challenged me, who have dared me to dream big and just go for it. If it weren’t for Tumblr, I wouldn’t be co-running a gaming site today; I’d just be wishing that I were doing something. And finally, if it weren’t for Tumblr, I would still be trying to fill a void that was in my life.
I’m happy to be a part of the Tumblr family. I just wanted to take a moment and identify a few people who are the genuine article and have helped me in my journey to fulfill my dreams. Though we may not have seen eye to eye at all times, without their support, I wouldn’t be living my dream today:
- Ron Workman
As the first person I started following on Tumblr, there’s never a day that goes by that I don’t thank him (in my brain) for his guidance and support. He introduced me to the Tumblr platform! He has taken so much time to provide answers to questions that he could easily just ignore. And though he sometimes comes across as harsh, he is genuine and true. He’s like the coach that tells you to “get the fuck out there and keep playing and walk it off.” He’ll be straight with you whether you like it or not and you’ll respect him even more for calling you on your bullshit.
- Dean Minifie
I owe Dean a ton! He gives and gives and gives (sorry if I took more than I have given back!). He has provided insight and support to help my website be better. Instead of saying “Fuck off” he’s always quick to reply “no problem.” Dean, like Ron, are what make Tumblr such an unique “community” platform.
- Billy Jyles Hay
You have offered an unstoppable juggernaut of support! You always have a kind word and are always available to shoot the shit. You have been a vocal supporter of our site and a great new friend in my life.
- Kody Christian
You were the first site to acknowledge OTL Gaming as a “new blog that is making some waves in the blogosphere” with your Follow Friday ad that you created for us. Your support and belief in us has been humbling, and I’ve been so thankful to get to know you more. I still can’t wait to debut the new site logo/layout that you created for us.
- Mallory
Mallory is someone who has a ton of contagious energy. Her no bullshit attitude is what makes her blog so successful and she has an eye for excellent art. It was her promotion of one of our posts that made it onto the Tumblr Radar that started the momentum of followers to our site which continues today. I thank her for giving OTL Gaming a shot and following us still to this day.
